Global Warming in Antarctica

Global Warming is supposed to have greater effect in polar regions, but for some time the apparent refusal of the South Polar region to comply has been of some interest.  Sea ice area increase can be explained away by various mechanisms, but actual temperatures are more difficult to explain.

Using UAH V6.0 data, here is the graph of the Temperature of the Lower Troposphere (TLT) for the South Polar Region, below 60 degrees South, since satellite records began in December 1978.

SPolar

For as long as we have records, Antarctica has not warmed at all.  The trend is -0.04 degrees Celsius (+/- 0.1C) per 100 years.  Zero trend, (or slightly cooling if you want to annoy your Global Warming Enthusiast colleagues).

Enjoy!

But! But! Al Gore said …. And then Tim Flannery said …. How dare the facts contradict them?

Seventy years after the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the people of Japan were finally told the truth about the birth of the world five billion years (5Ga) ago:

After WWII, public knowledge of composition (neutrons) and energy (neutron repulsion) was forbidden in cores of

    1. Heavy atoms like Uranium
    2. Some planets like Jupiter
    3. Ordinary stars like the Sun
    4. Galaxies like the Milky Way
    5. The expanding Universe

Neutron-repulsion in cores of U and Th atoms melted rocks that became the islands of Japan.

Something else to point out that may annoy them and a greater amount of people including those who post unrelated claims like “the truth about the birth of the world five billion years (5Ga) ago:”

While the temperature at the edge of Antarctic ice is held stable by the latent heat point of liquid to soild the Ice area has been increasing for the same satellite period this post is about. This would indicate massive energy loss on an otherwise stable planet.

If my hurried math is correct this is currently a rate of ice area growth much more than one Tasmania every five months for at least 36 years!

There are not many plausible reasons why it is not safe to conclude that the growth rate percentage has not been nearly constant as you go back in time well beyond that period. This would seem to suggest Antarctic climate has been rapidly changing for a very long time but over a much shorter existance period than 5 million years (our supposed birth from unknown mother). I suggest instead that the repulsion of which Omanuel speaks is greater than he claims and is STILL causing the planet to grow rather than having mystically suddenly appeared and been stable since. This extra terrestrial repulsion can be described as dark energy and may be a significant heat source that would throw both Trenberthites and Slayers into a a terminal tiz if the planet is not loosing energy but gaining it and mass in forms like abiotic hydrocarbons!

    Just a thought.

    Ken,

it is a pity the BOM types cant homogenise the Antarctic satellite data or we would have……warming.
