Station: Dartmouth Reservoir 82076
Opened: 1918
Daily Temperature data from: 1975
Data used to adjust Acorn sites at: Rutherglen
Location: Co-ordinates -36.5353 147.4984
About 250km north-east of Melbourne.
Less than 10 metres from a bitumen road, 10 metres from a very large bitumen car park, one metre from the evaporation pan, with a large tree to the north, on a slope.
This station is not compliant. Its temperatures are reported at Latest Weather Observations, and are used to make adjustments at Acorn stations, but are unlikely to be reliable.

“unlikely to be reliable” ? Depends what your intentions are.
And from this series I really wonder why we employ a lot of Climatologists at the BoM (and elsewhere).

I wonder what the impact of those two deep lakes is on the weather records at Dartmouth. The water absorbs a huge amount of heat from the sunlight … And that tends to stabilise the temperature fluctuations. By the way this was noted in Canberra after Lake Burley Griffin was created in the 1960’s.
