This site was opened in June 2013 as an improvement on the old Regional Office site on the corner of La Trobe and Victoria Streets in the inner city.  The next image shows the location move:

While it is certainly an improvement being further from the inner city, the station is too close to large areas of carpark and roads.  There are several other open spaces in parkland nearby that could have been used.

This station is not compliant.  Temperatures are uploaded every minute and reported at Latest Weather Observations, and contribute to Acorn adjustments, but are not reliable.

    Yes Ken, agree completely. This is in the middle of a UHI effected major city. It should not be part of the ACORN network or contribute to the ACORN network, It’s just measuring the impact of people on the temperature.
