The screen is surrounded closely by shrubs to one to two metres or more, there used to be shrubs to 0.5m inside the enclosure, and now there appears to be bare gravel.  There are buildings to the north and west, and stone walls to the north-west and north-east.

This station is not compliant, but temperatures are reported at Latest Weather Observations and used to adjust data at Acorn sites.

  1. Bill in Oz Says:

Again a curious location for a BOM weather station with
! : so much shrubbery growing close by lessoning the impact of winds on temperature. I suspect that this increases minimum temperatures recorded
2; Bare gravel immediately around the station increasing insolation by the soil there and thus increasing temperatures in the air immediately above that gravel patch.

Again there are areas where a BOM weather station could be at this site which are compliant with BOM’s own guidelines. Instead this compliant site was selected.
