What a remote and beautiful part of NSW !

1 : It is curious that once again the BOM weather station is impacted by human modifications to the site.

2: I wonder how the temperature record at Green Cape compares with the BOM weather station at Gabo island off the coast from Mallacoota in Vic. which is very close by ?

  2. Bill in Oz Says:

    Gabo Island :http://www.bom.gov.au/jsp/ncc/cdio/weatherData/av?p_nccObsCode=36&p_display_type=dataFile&p_startYear=&p_c=&p_stn_num=084016

The weather station has data going back to the 1877 !

However I suspect that the Gabo Island BOM station may also be not compliant. I just looked at the BOM’s pdf about it’s station there. But no photos.

I recommended your site to readers on NoTricksZone, but now I wish I hadn’t. Who wants to see the incompetence of the BoM exposed to foreigners?

  4. Bill in Oz Says:

Graeme the Germans have their own problems with their weather stations…. So I doubt that it matters… They probably have the same typeof ‘issues’. Far too much focus on modern technology in offices and not much on recording basic facts accurately.
