Tupia St is named after Tupia, a Tahitian who was being taken back to Britain by Joseph Banks.  Seventeen Seventy was the second landing point of the Endeavour.

The screen is close to houses, tanks, fences, a rock wall, shrubs and scrub.

Not withstanding the historical significance of the location, this station is non-compliant, with temperatures reported at Latest Weather Observations and used to adjust data at Acorn sites.

FAIL

Percentage of all sites not compliant: 13.67%

  1. Bill in Oz Says:

This BOM station looks to be in the back garden of a large modern house in a fairly recent housing development.

I wonder how close the Air conditioner unit is to the BOM station ? I can’t see one from Google Earth image. Not enough detail in the image – no doubt for privacy reasons !

But it is amazing how the BOM uses data from non compliant stations like this to adjust it premier ACORN stations.
