Ken, this BOM station is actually right next to a cricket oval. That’s why the 2 car parks, ( one bare dirt & one sealed ) are there. The car parks will both have an impact on the temperatures recorded. But so will the cricket oval.

In the Google earth photo, the cricket oval has green patches on it. I wonder if it gets irrigated to maintain the grass cover ? And what sort of irrigation system ? Such a big area is usually watered with sprinklers. And that would have a significant impact on the temperatures recorded on the BOM’s thermometer.

Not a good station to use for adjusting other BOM stations in it’s ACORN network.
