    Things I notice Ken
1 ; The airport landing strip has been upgraded recently.
2: The BOM weather station started in 2015. Probably when the landing strip was upgraded for commercial flights.

Why was this done ? Well the temperature of the air over the landing strip makes a difference to how easily a plane can take off. Hotter temps mean more power is needed. Lower temps mean less power is needed. This is important information for all pilots of planes landing at Halls Creek ( And all other airports as well ) .

So this BOM site is probably giving accurate information about the temperature on the landing strip..As required by pilots of planes.

But as you point out the BOM station is probably not providing accurate representative temperature information about this area.

Why ? Because it’s not compliant with BOM’s own guidelines.
