Station: Bickley 9240

Opened: 1969

Data used to adjust Acorn sites at: Cunderdin, Perth Airport, .

Location:   Co-ordinates  -32.0072 116.1369

26.5km east of Perth CBD.

This station at Perth Observatory is on bare dirt or gravel, close to bitumen, concrete slabs, shrubs and trees, and buildings.

This station is non-compliant, with temperatures reported at Latest Weather Observations and used to adjust data at Acorn sites.

FAIL

Percentage of all Australian sites not compliant: 24.59%.

    This is the state WA government observatory. With telescopes to observe the stars etc..

    I would have thought that BOM could ask the management to observe the guidelines for the BOM weather station on it’s site. But no, it it hasn’t or it doesn’t.

    I keep on tripping over thinking that all this is a mistake; just a stuff !
    But increasing i’m coming to the view that either this is all planed or the BOM just simply is totally incompetent. up.
