Interesting BOM weather station site Ken.! No not compliant !

It is the site also of Yongergnow Australian Mallee fowl Centre. They are a rare and endangered species. Importantly these mallee fowl build huge mounds ( 4 – 5 meters across & up to 3 meters high ) of leaves and plant material which they lay their eggs in. The composting process release heat which incubates the eggs.

So I wonder how many huge mounds there are in the area and I wonder if any of them are built each year close to the BOM ‘s thermometer measuring the temperatures. And of course this could be different from year to year as these are wild birds, not domesticated ones.

    Curious !
