The Wacky World of Weather Stations: No. 232- Lameroo (SA)

185km east of Adelaide.

The screen is a few metres from a dirt track entrance to a paddock, surrounded by open paddocks used for crop growing, with the paddock to the south-west sprayed out to bare soil, and the old wheat paddock to the south-east with the stubble grazed by livestock. The surrounding vegetation is subject to change by human intervention.

This station is non-compliant, with temperatures reported at Latest Weather Observations but not used to adjust data at Acorn sites.


Percentage of all Australian sites not compliant: 32.04%.

    The entire Lamaroo district is virtually all cleared paddocks for wheat, canola or sheep & cattle grazing.

    There is no natural landscape left Ken.

    I wonder what BOM’s logic for this weather station is ?
