Ben Nevis is a mountain peak in Mt Cole National Park in Victoria.

I am wondering why the BOM needs weather information from this elevated spot. What function does it serve in the wider picture ?

And it definitely fails the BOM’s own site guidelines.

Further info about this site : Ben Nevis is 877 meters above sea level. And it is a favorite abseiling location in Victoria with thousands of climbers scaling it’s cliffs each year.
