Hi Ken I have a question : what height above sea level is this BOM weather station ? It says “Scott’s Peak” so I assume it is a mountain peak.

As per normal physics, cold heavy air will always fall down hill off the steep ridge, away from this site. So the BOM’s thermometer will not be accurately recording the minimum temperatures common in this area.

PS Cape Bruny is close to sea level compared to this BOM site. So why are observations at Scott’s Peak used to adjust the precious ACORN station at Cape Bruny ?

Sounds bizarre stuff to me..But this is the BOM
