    Very very interesting Ken :
1: The location coordinates are not accurate. The BOM weather station is a couple of hundred meters North of where the coordinates given indicate. Someone blew it when doing this job for the BOM.

2: BOM weather stations are located at airports because they are an essential part of aircraft safety. On hot days the hot air provides less lift to the wings. Thus the pilot will need to use more engine power or if that cannot happen, reduce the load to safely take off.

3 : This BOM weather station is located in scrub away from the landing strip. It is sheltered from winds an perhaps shaded as well. That means it is not providing accurate data about temperature for pilots to use when flying out of this aerodrome.

4: Now that implies that BOM could be legally liable in the event of airplane crashes at this aerodrome..

5: Meanwhile this dopey observations from this site are also used to fart around with ACORN site data at Butlers Gorge & Cape Bruny.

Seeing as how this is BOM weather station #279, it seems like this is “Situation normal – All stuffed Up !”
