Beautiful area of Tasmania..Not known by many ‘Big Island’ folk.

Geologically the beach & dunes of this BOM site, are recent – formed only since the world warmed up about 10-12,000 years ago and turned Tasmania into an island by flooding what is now Bass strait.
Looking at the Google earth photo shows that the site is actually close to bare sand.. Sandy areas as we all know get very hot from the sun.Much hotter than nearby grassed areas. So the screen is being affected by the hot sand.

Also there is scrubby vegetation around. This acts as a windbreak dampening any cooling affect of coastal winds.

    Definite FAIL !

And the inaccurate data from this site is used to to adjust ACORN BOM sites at Hobart & Larapuna (Eddystone Pt) ?

Now that is Dopey science !
