BOM site plan 2015:

But here is the BOM site plan from the previous month:

Google satellite image 2019:

The enclosure was overgrown with grass to 1 metre at least once- and it takes a while of neglect to grow to 1 metre. Since 2015 a large new tank has been built 28 metres away and surrounded by bitumen and sprayed out dirt.

This station is non-compliant, with temperatures reported at Latest Weather Observations but not used to adjust data at Acorn sites.

Percentage of all Australian sites not compliant: 39.5%.

  1. billinoz Says:

That’s a big tank Ken. A forty thousand gallon tank in fact and from the roof design I think it is a metal walled one with a plastic liner, rather than a concrete one.

Such a tank absorbs heat during the day and then releases it during the night…Having an impact on the temperature around as it releases that heat.

And grass growing 1 meter high is also a bit of a blunder !

    Another fail by BOM
