Google Photosphere view 2018 (courtesy 360 Immersive Tours):

The screen is 20 metres from many trees. While the site plan locates the carpark outside the fenced area, satellite and ground views clearly show cars parked near the screen, with the grass thinned by tyre tracks.

This Acorn station is non-compliant, with temperatures reported at Latest Weather Observations and used to adjust data at other Acorn sites.

FAIL

Percentage of all Australian sites not compliant: 39.78%.

Yes Ken ! It looks like those people are using the BOm area as a turning circle for their cars.

But also why are those trees there on three sides ? because it is steep ground which is not worth clearing. This BOM site is perched up on a headland along with the lighthouse.

So once again cold air being heavier will fall away ( despite the trees) from this BOM screen meaning that the temperatures recorded are not accurate.
