The screen is 15 metres from a building and a bitumen path. The grass in the enclosure casts a shadow so must be much more than a few centimetres tall. Like so many others, this site is neglected and overgrown.

This station is non-compliant, with temperatures reported at Latest Weather Observations and used to adjust data at Acorn sites.


Percentage of all sites non-compliant: 47.3%.

    It’s also in the middle of a suburb of Brisbane with it’s own UHI effects.
    An example : In the wet season, it gets humid and hot. So A/C’s are standard in the modern homes & appartments there.

    And all A/c’s in order to operate must get rid of hot air..It’s vented out into the atmosphere..Put a few thousand of them all together and “Hey Presto : Urban Heat Island effect ! ”

    The heat produced by vehicles is pumped out the exhausts.. More UHI effect !
